The inaugural Action Sports Forum wrapped up successfully, bringing together key players from across the action sports industry: athletes, brand leaders, and innovators, sport governing bodies, institutions and agencies, to discuss the future of action sports. Held at Graystone Action Sports in Manchester, this landmark event marked the beginning of a new era of collaboration, growth, and innovation within the sector.

The forum, which took place over the 9th & 10th of September, featured an exciting lineup of panels and speakers. Scheduled on the heels of action sports being featured in the Paris Olympics, topics ranged from emerging trends in action sports, to access to funds and investment. The event drew 75 attendees and provided a platform for attendees from across the spectrum of action sports to connect with fellow industry experts and decision-makers.

Key Highlights of the Forum:

  • Keynote Speaker: Andy Hadden, Founder of Lost Short Surf Resort, shared his crusade/journey to bring the next inland wave to the UK. Andy spoke of the battles won and the challenges he’s overcome, as Lost Shore was soon set to open their doors.

  • Athlete Spotlights: Former professional athletes including snowboarders Hamish McKnight and Lesley McKenna, BMX rider, Greg Illingworth and climber Shauna Coxsey discussed their journey and insights in the industry.

  • Ride Together: The forum allowed for riders of difference disciplines to make use of the epic facilities of Graystone Action Sports, where the slapping of decks against curbs was the background noise of insightful conversations.

The event fostered networking opportunities for sponsors, brands, and attendees while also providing a platform for learning. Graystone Action Sports hosted meals and breaks that allowed for organic conversations and community over delicious spreads.

This year’s forum was proudly sponsored by Roller Software and Lime Street Insurance Brokers, whose support helped make the event possible. Their commitment to driving innovation in action sports and supporting the community was evident throughout the event.
